The Library has an advisory committee headed by the Principal with Teachers, Office Superintendent, Accountant, and a student representative as Member and Librarian as Secretary. The advisory committee meets periodically to discuss the following issues
  • Prepare the annual budget and proposals for the development of the library.
  • Computerization of library.
  • Purchase of books, as per demands of various departments.
  • Allocation of work for library staff.
  • Working hours of library.
  • Books issuing to students and staff, and provisions for book banks.
  • Verification of expenditure made on books and journals.
  • Stock checking and stock register maintenance.
  • Dead stock checking, writing off old books.
  • Submission of the annual report of the functioning of the library.
Access to Library
  • A Library card is issued to each student and books are issued to them on weekly basis.
  • Book bank facility (a set of books) is made available for the economically weaker students.
  • There are separate issuing counters for staff and students.
  • There are separate reading halls for boys and girls.
  • There is a special issuing counter for reading halls.
  • Students participating in various competitions, and appearing for competitive examinations and students involved in research are provided books.
  • The Library facilities are available from 7.15 am to 6.15 pm on all working days. Internet facility in the library is accessed by the students and staff to surf the online journals, magazines etc.
  • The College library also provides reading room facility at night during examinations.
  • The Library caters to the needs of UG, PG and research students and staff. The collection caters to the needs for teaching learning (UG, PG), research, reference, reading and preparation of projects, reports and for competitive examinations. The library ensures procurement of the latest and updated learning resources through latest catalogues.
