Department of English
English has been taught in the college since the inception of the college in 1982.It has the Post-graduate Department. It has two permanent faculty members . The department always tries to impart quality education to students who come from semi-urban,rural and tribal areas.
The Development of English has resources and infrastructure. It makes use of these resources and infrastructure to develop the Language Skills like Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing of the students. The department has the Digital Language Laboratory with 25 booths. The Language Laboratory is utilized to develop communication Skills, soft Skills, pronunciation Skills of the students, teachers and employability Skills of students. In addition to this the department has a rich collection of books in the Central Library and Departmental Library. Books are issued to students to improve their reading skills and analytical skills. The department has its LCD Projector and it is used to screen movies and plays.
The department runs two Certificate Courses like Gender Studies and Gandhian Thought (KBCNMU,Jalgaon under Ordinance 181).
The department established the English Literary Club in 1993.The English Literary Club provides a platform to the students to hone their skills. It organizes
various activities like Paper-reading, Poetry-recitation, Story-telling, Acting out a Scene competition, Elocution competition, Essay Writing competition, Language and Literary Quiz etc.The department encourages the students to participate in the competitions organized by English Language Teachers ‘Association of Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhary North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon at District and University level. Students also participate in the competitions which are organized by other departments and colleges. Students are encouraged to contribute to the Departmental Wall Display on various topics and events. The department schedules trips at various places for students.
The department encourages students to participate in Avishkar- State Inter-university Research Convention organized by KBCNMU,Jalgaon.
Our alumni are working in various fields and excel there. The department invites and involves the alumni in grooming personality the students of the college.
One faculty member Dr Varsha Patil is a research guide.Faculty members have research publications to their credit.
The department tries to inculcate human values and sensitize students to enable them to be good human beings. We aspire to make our students responsible citizens the country and the globe.
